The Dancer Transition Resource Centre
“The DTRC is a remarkable and vital organization, that has assisted many dancers over the past 25 years. It was an invaluable support system for me as I transitioned from performing to pursuing a new career as a yoga teacher. It is exciting to see how the organization has grown and evolved over the years, and I’m thrilled for their ongoing success.”
Founded in 1985, the Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) is a national, charitable organization. We are dedicated to helping dancers make necessary transitions into, within, and from professional performing careers. Tthe DTRC also operates as a resource centre for the dance community and general public, and supports activities that improve the socioeconomic conditions of artists across the country.
We recognize that dance is one of the most challenging professions. Physically, emotionally and financially, and that transitions are inevitable. Due to this, our goal is to ensure that dancers have the tools they need to reach their potential. Both throughout their dance career, and after retirement from dance performance. As a result, the DTRC is there for dancers every step of the way. Since our doors opened, we have supported more than 10,000 professional dancers. We help make positive, successful career transitions, with more than $5 million in programs and services.
